About Me
She is pursuing an M.A. in Korea Studies at the Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies while also completing the Graduate Certificate in American Indian and Indigenous Studies (GCAIIS). Through this certificate, she engages with Indigenous-centered research, community collaboration, and critical approaches to sovereignty and cultural revitalization.
Henry’s capstone extends her earlier work on code-calling, exploring its connections to the Irish rap group Kneecap and the ways Indigenous language and resistance-based artistry resonate across global Indigenous communities, including Elders in the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe. She will graduate in Spring 2027.
Before earning her undergraduate degree in linguistics and international studies from Wayne State University, Henry served as a Master-at-Arms K-9 handler in the United States Navy.
She is also an alumna of the Fulbright English Teaching Assistant Program, having spent 2017–2018 teaching and engaging with local communities in Romania. During this exchange, Henry delivered guest lectures on Ojibwe culture at universities in Romania and Moldova, presented at American Corners across the country, and conducted research on the 1989 Romanian Revolution at the Revolution Memorial Association (Asociația Memorialul Revoluției) in Timișoara.
